Initial pre-intervention sampling completed

The baseline sampling of sediments and water has been successfully completed. The collected samples are currently being analysed to quantify the organic carbon stored in the sediments, characterise the associated microbial communities, and assess water volumes.

These data will serve as a reference for mid-project and final comparisons, allowing the evaluation of the restoration actions’ impact on both the biotic component and the climatic function of the lakebed, expressed as its capacity to store greenhouse gases.
